Adjusting To Change – How Affiliate Program Management Requires Adaption 0

Posted on August 11, 2010 by Guest

At some point, every online business will have to ask the question. Should I keep the affiliate program management in-house or should I outsource the work? The very fact you are asking this question is a good sign. It means your affiliate program is growing and doing well enough to pay for outsourcing. Still, you need to consider a few things.

Outsourcing Part of the Affiliate Program

Outsourcing does not have to be an all or nothing proposition. You can outsource some things while keeping other things in-house. This will save you money while you are continuing to build your affiliate program.

Ideally, you will want to outsource recruitment as soon as possible. Affiliate program management teams will have more experience and better expertise in drawing in new affiliates. Additionally, as they draw in more affiliates, your sales will increase. This allows you to outsource more of the management.

The downside to outsourcing is that company to whom your do so will have other clients. As much as they would like to help you, they will have other clients to tend to. This means you will have to wait for call-backs and e-mail responses. However, a 24 hour turn around can and should be expected for responses.

Hiring an In-House Affiliate Manager

Alternatively to outsourcing your affiliate program, you can hire an in-house affiliate manager who works exclusively with your company and is available when you need them. The benefits to hiring an in-house manager are reliability and personal touch.

The downside to hiring an in-house manger is the cost of training. It will cost you quite a bit to hire an expert affiliate manager to work exclusively for you. You can go cheaper by hiring someone who is not an expert and requires training. However, they will not begin with the same expertise as an outsourced company.

Affiliate Management Software

Software can take some of the pressure off an affiliate management program. Some tools are free for businesses while others will cost you.

In the beginning, new companies should look into free software. Some free software is quite good and is recommended even for the busiest of affiliate programs. This software (especially tax software) can take tons of pressure off you and your staff while maintaining a high level of performance.

As you progress, this free software can be incorporated into an outsourced or in-house affiliate program management team. It is not too much to ask your team to continue to use this software. This is even more important when you are talking tracking tax info.

After all, it is not the outsourcing company that will be held responsible for your tax returns. If you find software you like, then stick with it and insist all teams use it to track your affiliates.

We have an online business recommending antispyware programs to help customers get rid of spyware from there computers. Having worked with a small vendor who has eventually become a major player within that industry we understand that the bottom line is adaption. As an Internet marketer, you will have to constantly change and adapt to the trends of the Internet. Your affiliate program will have to do the same to keep up and affiliate program management does just that. It keeps up and adjusts to the constant changes of the Internet.

Affiliate Marketing – Researching Your Niche – Is There Really A Market For That Thing? 0

Posted on August 09, 2010 by Guest

Everybody who has ever tried their hand at affiliate marketing has made the same mistake at least once – you find the most awesome product and you just know, all the way down to your toes, that it’s going to be the next “Hot Product”. Surely everyone on the planet will be looking for this. Why didn’t you think of this before?! Hurry! Build a website! People want to throw money your way!

It doesn’t matter what YOU think about the product. You may think it’s the next best thing since sliced bread. (By the way – the bread slicer was a complete dud when it was first introduced!) No affiliate marketer worth his salt builds a website to promote a product without finding out first if there’s even a market for that product.

How do you find out if anyone is interested in this wonderful product? Your first place to look is the Google Keyword Tool. This is where you can find out exactly how many people have come online looking for information about that product you just found.

Let’s say you just tripped over an awesome Blue Baby Bonnet – the most beautiful Blue Baby Bonnet you’ve ever seen. Type the words ‘Blue Baby Bonnet’ into the box under “Find Keywords” and hit “Search”. When the results come up, scroll further down the page and, in the column on the left, check “Exact” and uncheck “Broad”. You want to know exactly how many people are coming online looking for Blue Baby Bonnets.

And you’re going to find that there were only 36 people worldwide who, during the last month, typed that exact keyword phrase into their Google search box. Now, unless you’re confident you can sell that bonnet to all 36 people the NEXT time they search, then you haven’t found a very good product. Apparently, not everyone is as interested in a Blue Baby Bonnet as you thought they would be.

However, you’ll also notice that 1300 people searched using the keyword ‘bonnet baby’, 1600 people used ‘knit baby hats’ and so on. So there are people searching for information on baby bonnets in general. As long as you don’t have too much competition, you’ll probably be very successful building a website that promotes a variety of baby bonnets, with blue baby bonnets being one of them.

You would not, however, want to build a website around the keyword “Bonnet”. While there are over 90,000 searches per month, you’ll never be able to provide information on all the different types of bonnets available and you’ll have far too much competition.
We have an affiliate website recommending antispyware software programs to help visitors get rid of spyware from there computers so we understand the need for proper keyword research.

Analyzing Your Website Traffic 0

Posted on July 25, 2010 by John McRae

Analyzing your web traffic statistics can be an invaluable tool for a number of different reasons. But before you can make full use of this tool, you need to understand how to interpret the data.

Most web hosting companies will provide you with basic web traffic information that you then have to interpret and make pertinent use of. However, the data you receive from your host company can be overwhelming if you don’t understand how to apply it to your particular internet home business and website. Let’s start by examining the most basic data – the average visitors to your site on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

These figures are the most accurate measure of your website’s activity. It would appear on the surface that the more traffic you see recorded, the better you can assume your website is doing, but this is an inaccurate perception. You must also look at the behavior of your visitors once they come to your website to accurately gauge the effectiveness of your site.

There is often a great misconception about what is commonly known as “hits” and what is really effective, quality traffic to your site. Hits simply means the number of information requests received by the server. If you think about the fact that a hit can simply equate to the number of graphics per page, you will get an idea of how overblown the concept of hits can be. For example, if your homepage has 15 graphics on it, the server records this as 15 hits, when in reality we are talking about a single visitor checking out a single page on your site. As you can see, hits are not useful in analyzing your website traffic.

The more visitors that come to your website, the more accurate your interpretation will become. The greater the traffic is to your website, the more precise your analysis will be of overall trends in visitor behavior. The smaller the number of visitors, the more a few anomalous visitors can distort the analysis.

The aim is to use the web traffic statistics to figure out how well or how poorly your site is working for your visitors. One way to determine this is to find out how long on average your visitors spend on your site. If the time spent is relatively brief, it usually indicates an underlying problem. Then the challenge is to figure out what that problem is.

It could be that your keywords are directing the wrong type of visitors to your website, or that your graphics are confusing or intimidating, causing the visitor to exit rapidly. Use the knowledge of how much time visitors are spending on your site to pinpoint specific problems, and after you fix those problems, continue to use time spent as a gauge of how effective your fix has been. Additionally, web traffic stats can help you determine effective and ineffective areas of your website. If you have a page that you believe is important, but visitors are exiting it rapidly, that page needs attention.

You could, for example, consider improving the link to this page by making the link more noticeable and enticing, or you could improve the look of the page or the ease that your visitors can access the necessary information on that page. If, on the other hand, you notice that visitors are spending a lot of time on pages that you think are less important, you might consider moving some of your sales copy and marketing focus to that particular page. As you can see, these statistics will reveal vital information about the effectiveness of individual pages, and visitor habits and motivation. This is essential information to any successful Internet marketing campaign.

Your website undoubtedly has exit pages, such as a final order or contact form. This is a page you can expect your visitor to exit rapidly. However, not every visitor to your site is going to find exactly what he or she is looking for, so statistics may show you a number of different exit pages. This is normal unless you notice a exit trend on a particular page that is not intended as an exit page. In the case that a significant percentage of visitors are exiting your website on a page not designed for that purpose, you must closely examine that particular page to discern what the problem is.

Once you pinpoint potential weaknesses on that page, minor modifications in content or graphic may have a significant impact on the keeping visitors moving through your site instead of exiting at the wrong page. After you have analyzed your visitor statistics, it’s time to turn to your keywords and phrases. Notice if particular keywords are directing a specific type of visitor to your site. The more targeted the visitor – meaning that they find what they are looking for on your site, and even better, fill out your contact form or make a purchase – the more valuable that keyword is. However, if you find a large number of visitors are being directed – or should I say misdirected – to your site by a particular keyword or phrase, that keyword demands adjustment.

Keywords are vital to bringing quality visitors to your site who are ready to do business with you. Close analysis of the keywords your visitors are using to find your site will give you a vital understanding of your visitor’s needs and motivations. Finally, if you notice that users are finding your website by typing in your company name, break open the champagne! It means you have achieved a significant level of brand recognition, and this is a sure sign of burgeoning success.

In this article, we are going to present some of the job opportunities, available on the web today.

1. Owning a web store. Strange, but this job opportunity is usually the last one to be considered by those, who are in search of job. Everybody thinks that you need to have a huge initial capital in order to establish your own business on the web. It is a great mistake, because you practically need no capital at all, except for the expenditures on the creation of a web site and its placement onto the web. All you need is to find a supplier of goods you are going to sell. These suppliers will offer you their catalogues, which will be placed on your web sites. Your potential buyers will be able to choose goods from a catalogue and make an order by phone. If you do not have extra funds, you can forget about hiring a manager for your store, who would accept incoming calls from your clients. Packing and sending parcels are also things you can do by yourself. Thus, owning a web store is easy and it is one of the most profitable job opportunities on the web.

What is the blog?

In general unique definition to a blog is not present. One I understand it, as any personal Internet diary, others, as a version of the personal site. I tend to last variant more. Though value depends on that, what for to you it in general? If for its further monetization – that is the form of the personal site. (monetizing a blog – to turn it into a profit source, so it means somehow to receive from it money). Further in article I will tell about a blog as about a site. After all process of reception from it profit is interesting to us? Truly?!

What to begin with?

And it is necessary to begin with a choice of a theme for your blog. I consider it as the first and one of the basic steps to this business. Ask yourself a question: «what I understand perfectly?». Yes, perfectly, instead of “so-so”. Are not assured of that, how much well I know a theme? It is very easy for checking up. Take a leaf with a paper and write themes about hundred posts, besides begin with the 100-th. Have reached the first point? You can safely “get” a blog.
